Spry Fox announced a temporary pause for new Steam open playtest sign-ups beginning September 14. The studio explained that upcoming changes require closing open playtest sign-ups temporarily.
Current players who already have the game installed or registered in their Steam library will not be affected. During this period, the playtest sign-up button will not be visible on the Steam store page for several days. Spry Fox stated that the pause should take no longer than a week, aiming to reopen playtest access by September 21.
The developers encouraged anyone wishing to join before the closure to claim playtest access ahead of September 14. Players unable to join before the cutoff will be able to register as soon as sign-ups resume. In the interim, the team invited players to wishlist Spirit Crossing to assist with visibility on Steam.
