During the Wholesome Direct livestream, Spry Fox announced that the Spirit Crossing PC playtest is open to everyone on Steam for free. The studio thanked their playtesting community for providing valuable feedback and bug reports that supported development.
Spry Fox described Spirit Crossing as a game about connection. The development team aimed to create a welcoming space where players can bond, help each other, and thrive as a community. In the game narrative, players follow the track of a broken spirit following a storm and arrive in the Crosslands. Spry Fox outlined the setting as an unknown place inhabited by troubled spirits, villagers, and tiny bears.
The announcement also recapped several major features introduced in earlier updates. The developers overhauled the housing system to provide players with a mountain peak sanctuary. Recent updates added a new first-play experience alongside an opening animation. The team also implemented new character and house customization options, a revamped Village Center, and cooperative mini-games. Spry Fox noted that players could review patch notes and developer blogs for details on recent updates. The team invited participants enjoying their playtest time to add the game to their Steam wishlist.
